Nicole Summers is a Project Associate at Health Lab with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Western Illinois University. She provides management and participant recruitment on research projects focusing on a variety of needs facing our communities including individuals with substance use disorders who are leaving jail or prison, individuals with oral health concerns, caregivers of individuals with Fragile X syndrome, and individuals who have been impacted by gun violence. Nicole also serves as a Project Administrator for the NIH NIDA funded MAARC (Methodology and Advanced Analytics Resource Center). In this role she supports administrative tasks, coordinates activities for research centers across the United States and monitors project tracking from start to completion. She has worked extensively with families impacted by trauma, poverty, substance use, violence, and severe mental illness. She has served these populations in various capacities and roles by providing a comprehensive and compassionate approach to meet the needs of these communities. She brings particular expertise in the challenges facing people living in rural communities.
