Mike Levere is a faculty affiliate with the Inclusive Economy Lab. He is an assistant professor of economics at Colgate University. His research focuses on issues related to people with disabilities through a lens of health, public, and labor economics. In particular, his research explores supports and services that can help improve outcomes and promote well-being among people with disabilities, such as ABLE accounts. He is also interested in the factors that lead people, particularly youth with disabilities, to participate in disability benefits. Recently, he sought to better understand the factors contributing to the large decline in child Supplemental Security Income applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on the role of school closures among other factors. Prior to joining Colgate, he was a visiting assistant professor of economics at Haverford College and a senior researcher at Mathematica. Mike holds a Ph.D. from UC-San Diego and a B.A. from Pomona College.
