Joe Amick has 15 years of experience in political and economic analysis, experimental and quasi-experimental evaluation design and project management. His research and evaluation projects focused on governance, agriculture, forestry, land rights, labor, and climate change. Amick also teaches classes in quantitative methods at George Washington University and a consultant for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with their Development Impact Group.

He formerly served as Technical Director at Social Impact (SI), a global development management consulting firm, where he was the Project Director and Statistician for evaluations and large scale survey projects for a number of workforce development, education, climate change, governance, and migration projects for The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

Prior to SI, Amick served as project director, research manager, and statistician on projects with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab in Indonesia, the IFC, the Chief Evaluation Office at the US Department of Labor, and USAID’s Global Development Lab. He has regional expertise in Southeast Asia and Africa.

Amick holds a BA in Political Science from Pitzer College, a MPA from NYU’s Wagner School for Public Service, and a PhD in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.
