In partnership with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Police Department and the University of Chicago Crime Lab, a grant from philanthropist Ken Griffin will support the creation of a transformative philanthropic initiative to reduce violent crime in Chicago. The $10 million grant will accelerate proven programs, advance technology and data analytics, provide officers with training and support, and launch an innovation fund to help make Chicago a safer place to live and work. The grant builds on the City's public safety strategy to promote effective and equitable policing, and complements the ongoing work of many city agencies and community partners.
