Ryan Carlino is a Research Analys in the Crime Lab and Education Lab. Before coming to the Labs, Ryan was based in Austin, TX and worked on several criminal justice research and policy issues. As a Research and Data Analyst with the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department, Ryan used data and statistical methods to identify and address racial and ethnic disparities within the juvenile justice system. He also served as an appointed Commissioner on the City of Austin Community Police Review Commission where he amplified the Austin community’s voice in police oversight, accountability, and policy. Ryan holds a BA in anthropology from Grinnell College and a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas-Austin.
