Rebecca Hinze-Pifer is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center on Education Policy Analysis at Stanford, and will join the education faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. Her research focuses on the role of schools in perpetuating social inequality, with particular interest in school policies and practices impacting adolescent socioemotional development.
Hinze-Pifer completed her doctoral degree at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, with work focused on the economics of education. She holds a Masters of Public Policy from George Washington University and a B. S. in astrophysics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and worked as a secondary science teacher for seven years.
