Janelle Blackwood is a Project Associate in the Poverty Lab.

Janelle holds a B.A. in Sociology from Boston University, where she specialized in analyses of gender and sexual identity through the lens of critical race theory. Additional research interests include the allostatic load of structural racism, intergenerational trauma, and the role of nomenclature to create and sustain queer subcultures.Prior to joining Poverty Lab, Janelle worked in education administration in her hometown of Houston, TX.
