David Arbelaez is a Research Analyst in the Crime and Education Labs. He recently completed his MA in social sciences with a focus on sociology at the University of Chicago. In his MA thesis he used Hierarchical Linear Modeling to explore how different types of four-year public colleges affect the relationship between graduates’ earnings and socioeconomic background. Before starting his MA program, David worked as a research assistant in a variety of education-related projects at his undergraduate institution, UW-Madison, and in his hometown, Bogota, Colombia.
