Danae is the Associate Director of Research of the Energy & Environment Lab, providing oversight across the lab’s research projects, staff, and partnerships. Danae has 12 years of experience managing research, impact evaluations, and large-scale primary data collection across the globe. She has particular experience working on projects related to water infrastructure and health.

She formerly served as a Technical Director at Social Impact (SI), where she led several US government-funded evaluations in Tanzania, Lesotho, Lebanon, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and elsewhere. Prior to this, Danae served as a research coordinator at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (HSPH) managing a portfolio of research studies on HIV/AIDS in Botswana. She also previously worked with HSPH investigators in Nairobi, Kenya to initiate a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of a new maternal healthcare delivery model.

Danae has strong regional experience in East and Southern Africa and has led projects in other regions including the Middle East, Asia, and Central America. She holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and an MSc in Global Health and Population from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (HSPH).
