Monica Mielke oversees research on a program that supports college matriculation and graduation with ChicaGO Beyond, and an early intervention program in Chicago Public Schools to promote on-time high school graduation.

In addition, she supports an interagency effort to analyze data on juvenile justice involvement and improve outcomes for youth.

Monica holds a BA in sociology and German studies from the University of Chicago. Before coming to Urban Labs, she evaluated YMCA of the USA’s national STEM initiative, and conducted evaluations of youth development and education programs with Policy Studies Associates in Washington, DC.

In her free time, Monica enjoys swimming in Lake Michigan, going to the opera, and cheering for the Bulls.
