Kafi Moragne-Patterson manages the college and career success portfolio at the Inclusive Economy Lab. She also serves as a Lecturer at the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Across this work she broadly examines the role and impact of racial and social inequalities on the educational and career trajectories of urban communities, with particular attention to the experiences of students of color. 

Kafi previously served as the Director of Student Civic Education and the University Community Service Center in the University’s Office of Civic Engagement. Prior to that role, she served as the Vice President of Program Quality, Innovation, and Evaluation at Chicago Scholars. 

She holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Africana Studies from Vassar College, a MSW in Advocacy, Leadership, and Social Change from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a PhD from The University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.
