Energy & Environment Lab, Health Lab, Inclusive Economy Lab UChicago Announces $2M in Grants for Urban Policy Efforts

The University of Chicago will award more than $2 million in grants to three projects that will tackle urban policy issues, said Timothy Knowles, director of the university’s Urban Labs division, at a Monday afternoon Chicago Ideas Week event.

Knowles addressed a packed auditorium at Morningstar’s offices as part of a talk titled “Urban Innovation: Unlikely Solutions to Common Challenges.” Chicago MayorRahm Emanuel, WomenOnCall.org founder and President Margot Pritzker and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter also participated in the conversation, hosted by NPR correspondent Cheryl Corley.
